I sidste uge blev Kent Nielsen fyret som træner for OB, og her til formiddag blev Jakob Michelsen præsenteret som ny træner på en tre-årig aftale.

Her til eftermiddag var der mulighed for at interviewe ham på Odense Stadion, og vi fik derfor en kort snak med den nye træner.

Hvor nemt var det for dig at sige ja til OB?

– Det var forholdsvis nemt. Da den første kontakt kom, var jeg ikke i tvivl om, at det kunne blive et rigtig godt match. Jeg glæder mig enormt meget til at starte i Ådalen.

Michelsen fortæller, at der selvfølgelig var nogle betænkeligheder omkring jobbet i OB, men efter nogle samtaler var han hurtigt overbevist om, at det var det rigtige.

– Som træner har man altid betænkeligheder. Så tager man nogle gode snakke frem og tilbage både fra klubbens og fra trænerens side. I sidste ende havde vi nogle rigtig fine snakke om, hvad OB kunne gøre for mig, og hvad jeg kunne gøre for OB, og så kom det til en aftale.

– Jeg kunne sagtens have valgt noget andet, men jeg synes, det her er et rigtig spændende projekt med en masse gode mennesker, et dejligt sted og et godt potentiale. Jeg ser helt vildt meget frem til at arbejde sammen med staben, spillerne og hele øen.

Der er mange spillere, der har haft kontraktudløb i OB denne sommer, og derfor kan Michelsen komme til at sætte sit præg på truppen. Det er dog ikke noget, han har tænkt så meget på endnu.

– Det gør vi sammen. Det her er ikke et Jakob-projekt, men jeg har selvfølgelig nogle idéer til, hvad der skal ske med truppen, og det har vi haft nogle gode snakke om, og det skal vi have en masse snakke om her i fremtiden også. Det er gået relativt stærkt siden i mandags, hvor Kent blev fyret, så nu skal vi for alvor i arbejdstøjet.

I Odense ser man stadig OB som en stor klub, og Michelsen vil ikke endnu tage stilling til, hvordan det er at komme til en stor klub med stort pres.

– Det vil vise sig her om nogle år, hvordan det har været, men jeg glæder mig helt vildt. I bund og grund handler det om at arbejde med mennesker, det handler om fodbold, det handler om at skabe noget glæde og noget begejstring, og jeg glæder mig helt vildt til at være en del af den her fantastiske fodboldklub.

Har du nogen fast spillestil, eller er du fleksibel i forhold til modstanderen?

– Det kommer til at blive en blanding. Vi kommer til at have vores egen stil, og vi kommer til at holde fast i de ting, OB er gode til. Vi vil også rigtig gerne have noget mere dynamik, noget mere aggressivitet og noget mere direkte stil over feltet. Vi kommer til at have vores egen base, men vi kommer bestemt også til at justere i forhold til, hvem vi møder, hvilket underlag vi møder, hvilket system vi møder, hvad for nogle spillere har vi selv til rådighed, hvad for nogle typer vælger vi, og det er også nogle af de ting, vi skal kigge på, når vi sammensætter vores trup, at vi kan spille på forskellige måder, så vi undervejs i kampene, men også fra kamp til kamp, kan justere en lille smule, således at vi holder fast i vores egen stil, men at vi også kan tilrettelægge os en lille smule efter, hvem vi møder, så vi kan gå vores egne styrker i scene, men også kan dæmme op for nogle af de dygtige fodboldhold, der er i Superligaen.

– Det er jo altid sådan, at når man skal sammensætte et fodboldhold, og hvis du har for mange af den samme slags type, så kommer du til at have nogle mangler. Man skal lave et så fleksibelt fodboldhold som muligt, og det er det, jeg tror på. Jeg tror på et fleksibelt fodboldhold, ligesom jeg også tror på fleksibel ledelse som træner. Man skal både kunne skære igennem, men man skal også kunne skabe noget frihed under ansvar. Forskellige typer skal have forskellige typer ledelse. Når man sammensætter en trup, skal der være forskellige typer, der skal både være nogen, der kan spille, og nogen der kan slås, og hvis de kan begge dele, så er det rigtig godt.

– Fysik skader bestemt ikke. Slet ikke hvis man samtidig kan have noget teknik og noget fart, og man kan have direktehed og friskhed. Ligesom en god opskrift så skal man have lidt af det hele, og hvis man har for meget af en slags, går det som regel udover noget andet, og det er sådan i fodbold, at man kan ikke have det hele. Vi skal vælge ud fra, hvilken modstander vi skal møde, og hvilke typer vi har til rådighed og så få det bedste frem i dem.

– Vi har en god trup, og vi har et spændende potentiale, som vi skal have indløst, og når man har sagt farvel til 6-7 spillere, så er det også nødvendigt at få nogle nye spillere ind, som kan bidrage, sammen med dem vi har i forvejen, til at vi forhåbentlig kan få løftet det her hold bedre resultatmæssigt.

Transfervinduet åbner snart, og så er det muligt igen at hente nye spillere. Den nye træner har da også allerede nogle spillere i kikkerten, han godt kan se i OB.

– Det har vi bestemt, og det har klubben også. Jeg har mine idéer både fra min tid i Sverige og også fra mit store kendskab til Superligaen og skandinavisk fodbold, og i øvrigt også andre steder, så vi har allerede nu lavet en liste, men det arbejde skal selvfølgelig intensiveres nu her, når vi skal i gang. Det er ikke andet end nogle timer siden, blækket det blev tørt, så det er ikke fordi, der er skrevet med otte nye spillere allerede, kan jeg godt afsløre.

– Som udgangspunkt kigger vi over det hele, og så skal vi jo se, hvem der kan bidrage til vores type fodbold, og lige den type spillere, vi synes, vi mangler. Der er også noget med, hvem der har lyst til at komme til OB, og hvem vi har lyst til at have, er de på kontrakt, og hvordan er økonomien, løn i forhold til transfer, passer den type spiller ind i det, vi står og mangler? Der er mange ting, der skal gå op i en højere enhed, hvis en transfer, både den ene eller den anden vej, skal lade sig gøre. Det er det arbejde, der har været i gang i et stykke tid, før jeg kom til, og det er det arbejde, jeg glæder mig til at være en kæmpe del af nu her.

Det har været en lidt stressende periode for Michelsen, da det er gået hurtigt med at nå til enighed om en aftale, efter OB for første gang rettede henvendelse til ham.

– Det var i tirsdags, de kontaktede mig, og så har vi snakket sammen lige siden, og for et par timer siden, blev blækket tørt, og så er det frem med arbejdstøjet.
