Johnson Laursen: Pokalturneringen er noget særligt

I denne runde træder OB ind i pokalturneringen, og torsdag aften skal de en tur til Gladsaxe, hvor de møder AB, der til dagligt spiller i 2. division.

En af de spillere der er i truppen til opgøret, er Ryan Johnson Laursen, og han ser frem til kampen, da han mener, der er noget specielt over pokalturneringen.

– Det er særligt at være med i Pokalen, og hvis man ikke er der, så ryger man ud. Vi møder hold, der er lavere rangeret end os selv, og det er en af de store kampe i løbet af året for dem. Det er altid sjovt at opleve den atmosfære, der er i de kampe, og den nerve der er, for de vil gøre alt for at slå os ud, og vi skal ikke tro, vi er noget. Det er ikke en nem kamp for os, overhovedet ikke.

Johnson Laursen startede sin professionelle karriere i Lyngby, hvor han også spillede ungdomsfodbold, ligesom han også gjorde i Skjold, og her har han stiftet bekendtskab med en del af de spillere, der spiller for AB.

– Der er en del af spillerne, jeg har mødt i tidens løb. Både i ungdomsrækkerne, og de har været på diverse hold på Sjælland. Der er spillere, der var med omkring U19-holdene rundt omkring på Sjælland. Det er ikke fordi, jeg kender dem personligt, men jeg ved, hvem de fleste er.

Jakob Michelsen har varslet, at der bliver roteret lidt på holdet til kampen mod AB, og Johnson Laursen mener, det er positivt, at det er muligt.

– Det er trænerens valg, hvem han ser som fitte til den kamp, og det er godt, vi har en bred trup, hvor der er flere, der kan gå ind og udfylde den rolle, der skal udfyldes. Det er kun positivt.

– Den er god. Den er ligesom i Superligaen, hvor der er tre hold, der er rigtig gode, og udover det kan alle slå hinanden. Der er mulighed for, at vi ryger ud til AB, men der er også mulighed at vinde over dem at gå hele vejen.

– Hvis vi rammer de gode kampe, hvor det virkelig gælder, hvis vi selvfølgelig går videre, så synes jeg, der er muligheder for os.

Hvad betyder pokalturneringen for dig?

– Jeg ved ikke, om jeg har et særligt forhold til pokalturneringen, men jeg har da været med i nogle sjove kampe, og jeg har faktisk også lavet okay mange mål i pokalturneringen, både i Lyngby og i Esbjerg. Jeg kan huske min debut som 17-18 årig for Lyngby, det var i en pokalkamp, og min debut for Esbjerg var i en pokalkamp, så det er en turnering, hvor man får nogle oplevelser.
