Michelsen: Glade for at Ramon ville prøve noget nyt

Der har i nogle dage været rygter om, at OB skulle være interesseret i den hollandske forsvarsspiller, Ramon Leeuwin, fra Utrecht, og i dag blev det så officielt.

Hollænderen kommer til OB på en to-årig kontrakt, og allerede her til formiddag trænede han med holdkammeraterne for første gang.

Det er selvfølgelig svært at bedømme noget ud fra en enkelt træning, men umiddelbart ser det ud til, at han har et godt overblik, og så er han meget rolig på bolden.

Der gik dog også lige et lille gys gennem folk på sidelinjen efter en halv times træning. Her fik Leeuwin et slag på knæet, og han var også lige ude at vende. Det så ikke for godt ud til at begynde med, men han kom dog ovenpå igen, og fuldførte træningen uden problemer.

Efter træningen fik vi en kort snak med Jakob Michelsen om tilgangen af den hollandske forsvarsspiller.

Hvorfor havde vi brug for en forstærkning til forsvaret?

– Fordi hvis vi gerne vil have muligheden for at spille med tre stoppere i kampene, så er det lige lidt nok at have 3.5, i og med at Jeppe Tverskov også kan spille på midten.

Er det en, du kender noget til?

– Ikke inden vi begyndte at kigge på ham. Det er en, vores scoutingafdeling har set rigtig meget på video, og det har jeg selvfølgelig også.

Hvad kan han bidrage med?

– Han er vel det, man kalder en allround forsvarsspiller, i forhold til at han kan lidt af det hele. Nu kommer han jo, qua sin alder og rigtig mange kampe i den hollandske række, med en masse erfaring. Her i søndagens kamp spillede vi jo med et forsvar i start 20’erne. Der kommer lidt rutine og noget supplement til de øvrige forsvarsspillere, vi har i truppen.

Han var stort set fast mand på holdet i Utrecht, så udefra set kan det måske se lidt mærkeligt ud, at han tager til OB?

– Jeg ved, det der har tændt Ramon, det er, at han har spillet ti år i Holland på de samme stadions weekend efter weekend, og han har nået en alder, der betyder, at hvis han skulle have et udlandseventyr, så skulle det til at være, så vi er rigtig glade for, at han havde lyst til at prøve noget nyt.
