OB bankede Esbjerg i ‘bronzefinale’
Der var ikke nogen, der kunne være i tvivl om vigtigheden af aftenens kamp på Odense Stadion mellem OB og Esbjerg. Med tre spillerunder tilbage var det de to hold, der stadig kæmpede om bronzemedaljerne.
Gæsterne fra Esbjerg lå inden kampen på tredjepladsen med to point ned til OB på fjerdepladsen, så man kunne godt kalde kampe for en ‘bronzefinale’.
Op til kampen havde der været tvivl omkring Jeppe Tverskovs deltagelse, da han ikke rigtig havde trænet de sidste to dage, men viceanføreren var blevet klar, og startede i forsvaret sammen med Marco Lund og Ramon Leeuwin.
Ligesom i den seneste kamp mod FC Midtjylland spillede OB kun med en enkelt angriber fra start. Bashkim Kadrii tog plads helt fremme, og så var midtbanen den samme som mod midtjyderne.
Der var god tænding på de to hold fra kampens start, og der blev gået til stålet. Begge hold kunne både give og tage. Der var dog ikke meget poleret fodboldspil, og der skulle da også gå noget tid, før den første store chance kom.
Så snart den kom, var der dog også gevinst. Det var hjemmeholdet, der kom frem til den, da Oliver Lund tog en fin tur op af venstresiden, og så kunne han trække ind i banen, og sparke bolden fladt ind bag Jeppe Højbjerg til 1-0.
Generelt var det ikke en kamp med mange chancer, og højdepunkterne i opgøret var meget mere nogle gode tacklinger, og når der blev fightet og kæmpet røven ud af bukserne.
Kort før pausen fik de 8724 tilskuere så endnu et mål. Her blev Bashkim Kadrii sendt afsted mod mål, og han fandt en fri Troels Kløve med en aflevering på tværs, og efter et par forsøg fik han fordoblet hjemmeholdets føring til 2-0, som var stillingen ved pausen.
Efter pausen spillede OB til at starte med lidt mere afventende. Hjemmeholdet havde jo også deres føring, og det var gæsterne, der skulle ud og jagte noget.
Da uret på stadion rundede de 60 minutter, fik OB et hjørnespark, som Casper Nielsen lagde ind i hovedet på Ramon Leeuwin, og så kunne han gøre det til 3-0 til OB.
Herefter overtog gæsterne lidt mere initiativet i kampen, uden de dog fik presset OB helt i bund. Med 20 minutter tilbage fik de dog skabt en lille smule spænding i opgøret, da Yuri Yakovenko modtog bolden, og fik sendt den ind bag Grytebust.
Esbjerg formåede først at udnytte overvægten i spillet til at blive rigtig farlige igen, da der manglede fem minutter, og det var kun en formidabel redning af Sten Grytebust, der holdt dem fra at score igen.
I stedet for en reducering kom kampens sidste mål nede i den anden ende. Med to minutter tilbage blev bolden sendt op til Troels Kløve, der tog den flot med, og kunne sætte den iskoldt ind bag Jeppe Højbjerg til 4-1, og score sit andet mål i kampen.
De tre point til OB betyder, at de nu har lagt sig op på tredjepladsen i Superligaen med et enkelt point ned til Esbjerg forud for de sidste to kampe, og fynboerne kan derfor selv afgøre, om de skal stå med bronzemedaljerne efter den sidste kamp.
