Opondo: Der har været for langt mellem snapsene

I lørdags spillede OB den første af to kampe mod Randers, om at få retten til at møde Horsens og komme et skridt tættere på at spille om en europæisk billet.

Det blev ikke til den kamp, man havde håbet på, og spørger man Moses Opondo, der var med fra start, så er han bestemt heller ikke tilfreds.

– Jeg synes overhovedet ikke, vi får spillet på den måde, som vi kan. Det bliver meget på deres præmisser, og de er meget bedre til de lange bolde, end vi er. Så det var slet ikke godt nok på bolden. Jeg synes, der er nogle fine perioder i forhold til nogle kontrafaser, men vi får ikke rigtig sat spillet og taget fat i bolden. Mange af de gode spillere vi har på bolden, kommer ikke rigtig på bolden. Så det er vi sindssygt ærgerlige over.

OB kom foran med 1-0, men måtte alligevel se sig besejret med 2-1. Man fik dermed scoret et vigtigt udebanemål, der kan betyde en del for udgangspunktet.

– Det kunne selvfølgelig have været bedre med en sejr på 1-0 i stedet for, men når det så er sagt, så er det heller ikke helt skidt. Det er ikke det værste scenarie. Der er stadig muligheder, og vi er kommet med et godt udtryk på hjemmebane, og det skal vi fortsætte med og lade dem vide, at nu er de kommet til Odense.

Opondo havde selv en stor andel i OB’s mål, da han efter et flot drev med bolden lagde den til rette for Max Fenger, der kunne sparke den i kassen til 1-0.

– Det er klart noget, som jeg har fokus på i forhold til at hjælpe holdet. Der har været for langt mellem snapsene fra mig, og der skal selvfølgelig stadig bygges på, men det er rart at få sådan en succesoplevelse, men kan tage med videre, nu hvor jeg har fået muligheden fra start i de seneste kampe. Det er meget rart at kunne bidrage på den konto også.

– Det bliver lidt overskygget af indsatsen deroppe, fordi vi havde håbet på, at vi var meget bedre på bolden, men det er selvfølgelig klart, at jeg selv skal tage det positive med videre, og som hold skal vi løfte os.

I de sidste kampe har det set fornuftigt ud fra dig. Er du ved at ramme formen?

– Ja, det synes jeg. Jeg synes egentlig, der har været selvtillid i de sidste mange kampe i forhold til at ville forsøge nogle ting offensivt. Det er ikke altid, det lykkes, men man skal eddermame forsøge, og det synes jeg, at jeg har fået gjort. At det nu også begynder at ende ud i nogle fine aktioner, og jeg får sat mine holdkammerater i scene, det er bare dejligt. Det er det, jeg arbejder hen i mod.

– Der er stadig lang vej, og mit mål er at kunne spille en hel kamp på det niveau, hvor jeg er på mit bedste, og det synes jeg helt klart, vi nærmer os.

Opondo måtte forlade banen efter 56 minutter, da han blev erstattet af Anders Klynge. Han kunne dog godt have spillet videre, mener han selv.

– Det er Michelsens beslutning, at jeg skulle ud. Jeg havde givet udtryk for, at jeg havde mere i mig i forhold til, at der havde været noget med lysken, og de gerne ville passe på mig. Jeg følte egentlig, at der var lidt tilbage i tanken. Lige inden fik jeg et slag over skinnebenet, som gjorde pisse ondt, men jeg følte selv, det bare lige skulle løbes lidt væk. Men de begyndte at tænke i andre baner derude, og det var en beslutning, der blev taget udefra.

På søndag spiller OB returkampen mod Randers på hjemmebane, og Opondo ser optimistisk på chancerne for at få vendt opgøret.

– Det synes jeg faktisk, er positivt. Vi skal tage med, at vi også har været inde i en rigtig fin periode. Nu har vi så fået det her lille nyk i Randers, men jeg synes ikke, det skal overskygge den periode, vi har været inde i, som jeg synes, har været rigtig fin.

– Nu skal vi selvfølgelig ikke være naive i forhold til, at situationen er, som den er, men vi skal simpelthen have det lange ben forrest og gå ud og levere en mandfolkeindsats, som jeg synes, vi har gjort i mange af de andre kampe også.
