Tverskov: Betyder meget at være med i Pokalturneringen endnu

OB startede 2019 med et klart nederlag på 6-1 til FCK i Parken, men i de de to seneste kampe i Superligaen har fynboerne vundet over Vejle og Horsens.

Onsdag aften får OB muligheden for at fortsætte den sejrsstime, når de spiller hjemme på Odense Stadion i kvartfinalen i pokalturneringen mod Esbjerg.

Klubbens viceanfører, Jeppe Tverskov, ser frem til den kamp, men han ved ikke rigtig, hvad det bliver for en opgave, der venter.

– Det er et godt spørgsmål. Det er jo en pokalkamp, og den ligger i midtugen, så vi ved ikke helt, hvad for et hold de stiller med, om de sparer mange, eller om de fortsætter med mange af dem fra start-11’eren. Det er lidt svært at sige nu, men vi kender jo Esbjerg som hold, og de har en masse gode både offensive og defensive spillere, og nogle spillere der kommer meget i boksen. De har lidt af hvert, og der er også en grund til, de ligger deroppe, hvor de gør.

Kampprogrammet lige nu er lidt presset, da OB spillede i søndags, spiller igen onsdag, og så er der kamp igen søndag. Tverskov regner dog med, at fysikken holder til det.

– Det er egentlig okay. Jeg havde lidt med baglåret inden sidste kamp, men det holdt fint, og det regner jeg også med, at det gør mod Esbjerg.

Når der er tre kampe indenfor en uge, kan det ende med at få stor betydning, hvis kampen mod Esbjerg ender i forlænget spilletid, så det vil være ret vigtigt at få kampen lukket.

– Det vil man vel gerne i alle fodboldkampe. Vi ville også gerne have vundet første halvleg i Horsens, og så have sparet nogle spillere til nu her. Det er klart, at det ikke er smart at komme i forlænget, som programmet er lige nu.

– Heldigvis er vi et af de hold i Superligaen, der har den bredeste trup, synes jeg. Vi har spillere på bænken, der har spillet mange Superligakampe, som kan gå ind og gøre en forskel, og det gør, at vi ikke sænker niveauet specielt, hvis vi skifter 6-7 spillere. Det er en stor fordel for os.

– Jeg synes også, vi kan spille i to turneringer, og det får folk også at se til kampen. Jeg synes, det er et stærkt hold, vi stiller med.

Kampen mod Esbjerg er kvartfinalen i pokalturneringen, og det er efterhånden nogle år siden, at OB har været så langt fremme i turneringen. Det betyder også meget for klubben ifølge Tverskov.

– Det betyder rigtig meget. Der er ikke så mange på vores hold, der har vundet titler i Danmark. Det betyder rigtig meget, det er sjovt at komme til at prøve at spille de her kampe, og man vil jo gerne ind og spille den her pokalfinale, om det så er i Parken, eller hvor det nu er, det må vi jo se på. Men det er helt sikkert en stor oplevelse.

Hvor meget kommer det til at betyde for os, at vi er på hjemmebane?

– Det er jo også lidt op til tilskuerne, heldigvis. Vi håber jo, der kommer så mange som muligt, som der altid gør. Folk ved godt, hvor meget det betyder her i Odense, og nu ligger vi til at kunne spille os i to gode positioner med de to kampe, vi har de næste 4-5 dage. Vi håber, der kommer rigtig mange, for det giver os noget, og vi kunne helt sikkert mærke det her i søndags, at der var mange, der havde taget turen til Horsens. Det er fedt, at kunne fejre det med så mange.
