Hemmingsen om trænerfyring: Tror, det er den rigtige beslutning
Søndag eftermiddag spillede OB på hjemmebane mod Brøndby, og da spillerne forlod banen, havde de tabt med 3-0 i en kamp, hvor der bare var klasseforskel på de to hold.
Med nederlaget kan OB heller ikke længere nå at komme med i top seks, og det kostede mandag formiddag Jakob Michelsen jobbet som træner. Det er i hvert fald det, Michael Hemmingsen lægger til grund for fyringen.
– Det handler om, at vi synes, vi er der, hvor det bliver gjort op, om vi kommer i top seks, eller om vi ikke kommer i top seks. Jakob udløb til sommer, og derfor valgte vi, at trække af på det i dag.
– Det er aldrig rart at sige farvel til en, der har været en del af holdet, men det er den beslutning, vi har taget i dag, og det tror vi, er den rigtige.
Er den beslutning udelukkende truffet, fordi vi ikke kom i top seks?
– Det handler også om nogle andre parametre, f.eks. den kontinuitet, der gerne skulle have været omkring vores resultater, er udeblevet, så det spiller også ind.
For det er vel ikke kampen i går, der gør, at vi ikke kommer i top seks?
– Nej faktisk ikke. Det synes jeg, du har ret i. Vi har jo haft mange muligheder for at gøre det. Vi har fået mange matchbolde. Det er en længere periode, hvor vi ikke har fået de resultater, vi gerne ville have.
Hvordan tog truppen, at Jakob blev fyret?
– Ligesom os andre, så er det jo aldrig rart at skille sig af med en medarbejder på et fodboldhold. Jeg har selv prøvet det, så jeg ved, det ikke er særlig rart. Men det er også sådan, fodbold er. Det er en del af fodbolden.
Michael Hemmingsen overtager selv styringen med holdet resten af sæsonen, da han nu har fået titlen som manager, og han fortæller også, hvilke overvejelser han gjorde sig, inden han sagde ja til det.
– Det er klart, det handler om, hvad der er bedst for OB, og det tror vi nu, at det her kan være med til i samarbejde med trænerteamet. Så kan man sige, at personligt for mig, er det måske lidt lettere end for andre, fordi jeg holder så meget af OB. Det spiller selvfølgelig også ind.
Hvad kommer det til at betyde for dine andre opgaver som sportschef, at du nu skal ned og være træner?
– Førsteprioriteten er de her to og en halv måned, at få sat os ind i det og få arbejdet med spillerne og arbejde os hen imod det, vi gerne vil. Så skal vi nok få det løst med de ressourcer, vi har i organisationen i forhold til de ting.
Der er ikke nogen mulighed for, du også er træner i næste sæson?
– Nej.
Der resterer en enkelt kamp i grundspillet, ude mod AaB på søndag, og derefter er der ti kampe i nedrykningsspillet. Men hvad skal målsætningen være i resten af sæsonen?
– Det er i allerhøjeste grad at slutte bedst muligt. En syvendeplads er det næstbedste i forhold til at komme i mesterskabsspillet. Så den er jo klar til at forfølge, og så handler det om at få en god oplevelse oppe i Aalborg.
Når vores målsætning har været at komme i top seks, så skal vi vel også være ’De bedste af de dårligste’ nu?
– Det er jeg helt med på, i forhold til at vi gerne vil være en del af det, så det må vi hellere bestræbe os på. Det har været et meget tæt felt i forhold til dem, der ligger lige omkring top seks. Men vi gør alt, hvad vi kan.
Vi skal vel også passe på, at nedrykningsstregen ikke lige pludselig kommer for tæt på?
– Vi er jo en del af det nedrykningsspil, og det skal vi jo også forholde os til. Det handler om, at man får præsteret godt i de næste kampe, og får det ud af det, som man kan få.
Kan det her betyde, at arbejdet med at finde en ny træner, kan blive lidt tilsidesat?
– Det gør det ikke. Der er rigeligt ressourcer i spil allerede nu i forhold til at få den rigtige træner.
Hemmingsen har haft sin første træning med holdet, sammen med Tonny Hermansen der også skal fungere som assistenttræner sæsonen ud, men om man kommer til at se en stor forskel, må man vente lidt endnu med at få svar på.
– Vi går i hvert fald ind, og arbejder med tingene, og så må man vente med at finde ud af, om man synes, man kan se det. Vi gør det, at vi går til det ud fra, at vi vil prøve at vinde kampen, og om det så ser ud på den ene eller anden måde, må man så vente at se.
